Jerry Manas is frequently cited by leading voices in the world of business, including Tom Peters. Peters, hailed by The Economist, Fortune, The New Yorker and many others as “the father of the post-modern corporation and … the uber-guru of management,” often references Jerry Manas and his best selling work, Napoleon on Project Management—particularly its core themes of simplicity and focus.
Throughout his career as an author, speaker, and consultant, Manas has built a reputation for taking complex information and processes and making them clear and accessible. He is passionate about helping organizations conquer complexity through simpler processes, clearer communication, and more focused strategies.
Jerry’s work has been highlighted in a variety of publications, including Leadership Excellence, The National Post, The Globe and Mail, The Chicago Sun Times, and The Houston Chronicle. He has written numerous articles and appeared on radio programs nationwide.
This year, Jerry co-authored 42 Rules for Creating WE (Superstar Press, August 2009), which Angela Ahrendts, CEO of Burberry, called “today’s greatest guide for team success.” The book reached #1 on Amazon in Leadership, Management, Motivation, and Organizational Behavior, and was an overall bestseller.
His book Managing the Gray Areas (RMC Publications, January 2008), which brought new perspectives on resolving the most common leadership dilemmas, was hailed by Pat Williams, Senior VP of the Orlando Magic basketball team, as “a new path for leaders.” 3,000 people flocked to Jerry’s popular webinars on the topic.
In Napoleon on Project Management (Nelson Business, April 2006), Manas drew insightful parallels between Napoleon’s strategic brilliance and success in today’s organizational and business worlds. The prestigious Kirkus Reviews called it “the ultimate case study in effective project management.” The book has been published in eight languages. Jerry was recently called upon to speak in Iceland, applying the lessons to Iceland’s current recovery and rebuilding efforts.
Jerry’s latest book, Project Lessons from the Roman Empire (Multi-Media Publications), released in January 2010, examines lessons in leadership and communication from the rise and fall of Rome.
Jerry is co-founder of the popular blog, PMThink!, and a founding member of The Creating We Institute, an international group of critical thinkers dedicated to harvesting new forms of engagement and communication in the workplace. He is also a founding member of the Project Management Institute’s New Media Council.
